OVER Maja Linn
Opgeleid tot klassieke pianiste, muziek docente en muziek therapeute verdeelde zij al heel vroeg haar Artistieke voldoening tussen pianospelen en tekenen. Naast haar professionele bezigheden als musicus zocht zij gedreven vanuit haar creatieve geest naar de andere manier van expressie: schilderen. Dit resulteerde in 1997 in haar eerste expositie in de US. Sindsdien schildert zij onder de naam Maja-Linn om deze 2 werelden te scheiden.
Haar streven is om een compositie te creëren waar vorm en kleur hun juiste balans vinden zoals in muziek melodie en ritme elkaar ondersteunen. Er wordt gewerkt met gemengde technieken, collages en soms ook zand en andere materialen. De werken zijn non-figuratief; hetgeen natuurlijk niet uitsluit dat voor zowel de toeschouwer als de maker in de ontstane vormen betekenis mogelijkheden kunnen ontstaan! Zo is iedereen vrij in zijn of haar eigen interpretatie.
Haar werken zijn vooral kleurrijk en expressief en hangen in privé bezit verspreid over meerdere continenten.
ABOUT MAJA LINN
Trained as a classical pianist, music teacher and music therapist, she divided her artistic satisfaction between playing the piano and drawing from an early age. In addition to her professional activities as a musician, she was driven by her creative mind to search for another way of expression: painting. This resulted in her first exhibition in the US in 1997. Since then she has been painting under the name Maja-Linn to separate these 2 worlds.
Her aim is to create a composition where form and color find the right balance, as in music melody and rhythm support each other. Mixed techniques, collages and sometimes sand and other materials are used. The works are non-figurative; which of course does not exclude the possibility that meaningful connections can arise for both the spectator and the maker in the results! This way everyone is free in his or her own interpretation.
Her works are especially colorful and expressive and are in private collection spread over several continents.
